Gautam Gambhir Reacts To World Cup 2011 Win After Fans Obsessed Over MS Dhoni Six: Post Viral!

As April 2 marks India's 2011 World Cup win, fans on social media are expressing their love for the team and former cricketer MS Dhoni's winning six, that helped them grab the cup. As the nation is celebrating this special day, former cricketer and BJP MP Gautam Gambhir took to social media and lashed out at the 'obsession' with MS Dhoni's famous winning six. 

Taking to his social media handle, Gambhir said that the tournament was won by a collective effort by the team and its support staff. Highlighting about the epic moment, during the 2011 World Cup final between India and Sri Lanka, Dhoni had smashed a six that totally helped Team India to lift their second ODI World Cup. 

As fans were cherishing the moment, Gambhir said "Just a reminder @ESPNcricinfo: #worldcup2011 was won by entire India, entire Indian team & all support staff. High time you hit your obsession for a SIX," Gambhir tweeted.

Talking about the match, Sri Lanka had won the toss and opted to bat first. During the game, Mahela Jayawardene top-scored for Sri Lanka as he made a century and took the score to 274/6. While, Gambhir got out after playing a knock of 97 runs, it was Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh, who took the team over the line by six wickets.
