Sourav Ganguly Makes First ‘Historic Decision’ on Day-Night Test as BCCI President
Home > News Shots > Sports newsSourav Ganguly who took responsibility as the BCCI president has taken his first step in organising India's first-ever Day-Night test which has become successful. Ganguly made efforts to contact Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) who agreed immediately followed by the positive nod from the Indian skipper Virat Kohli. In fact, Ganguly has pulled off a ‘historic decision’ within a short period of notice.
"It's just my job, that's what I'm here for... Because I’ve played this game for so long. It's great. I think common sense is important. And I think it's a great move for Test cricket and hopefully it will bring crowds back to the ground," Ganguly was quoted as saying to PTI by TOI.
Further, Ganguly expressed his gratitude to Virat Kohli and BCB for immediately agreeing to the decision without any second thought. It has to be mentioned that Bangladesh star cricketer Shakib Al Hasan was banned for 2 years for breaching ICC Anti-Corruption code recently.
India's first historic Day-Night Test against Bangladesh will be held at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata from November 22-26. It is also the first of its kind for Bangladesh as well. Reportedly the game will be played with 'SG Test' pink balls instead of Dukes or Kookaburra.
