Home > News Shots > Sports newsWeeks ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni and other team members have kick-started their preparations for the big day.
Dhoni, who has a worldwide fan-following, arrived in Chennai earlier this week and received a grand welcome from the Namma Chennai crowd.
While Dhoni was training with his team at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, yesterday; fans in large numbers gathered at the stadium to get a glimpse of their 'Thala'. As Dhoni walked out, fans screamed with joy on seeing their favourite cricketer in the nets after a long time.
One crazy fan among the crowd, was caught climbing up the barricades and run on to the field just for a handshake. In between all this, Dhoni, was seen running around the ground for a warmup session. Dhoni, who has gotten used to such a sight shook hands with the fan and smiled back at him. Meanwhile, security led the intruder away from the field.
Fans have been waiting for Dhoni post his exit since India's semi-final in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 against New Zealand. Dhoni, who was away from cricket, served for the Indian Army too. Highlighting Super Kings and Dhoni’s relationship, CSK has won three IPL titles so far under the captaincy of Dhoni.
This year, the IPL opening match will take place between Mumbai Indians and CSK in Mumbai on March 29 at the Wankhede Stadium. Meanwhile, what the video below:
