Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Saturday took to Twitter to console India women's cricket team over ICC T20 World Cup loss.

India succumbed to an 85-run defeat against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. After Australia openers Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney ran riot at the start of the first innings as Australia gave India a stiff target of 185 runs, a lot depended on India's star batswoman Shafali Verma.

But the 16-year-old was dismissed for just 2 runs and the rest could only manage to score 99 runs.

Following the defeat, CSK tweeted, "Chin up girls, it was a valiant fight till the very last over! The fact that more than 86000 fans thronged the MCG to watch the final shows that Women's Cricket is moving in the right direction!"

The post attracted large attention in short time as fans and critics flooded the comments section in support of the women in blue.
