The Chennai Super Kings’ five-day camp is on-going in Chennai city where the captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Shardul Thakur, among the others have reported earlier this week. The squad is preparing to start for UAE on Friday.
However, it has now come to light that Harbhajan Singh, will not be joining the squad to depart to Dubai on Friday. According to a report published by Times of India, Singh had informed the franchise that his mother has not been keeping well and that he will not be able to travel with the rest of the squad. The spinner is expected to join the team in two weeks.
Further all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is arriving at Chennai Airport today. The camp ends today and the captain is immensely satisfied with the preparations at the Chidambaram Stadium. “The red soil is a typical Chepauk wicket which has a bit of turn while the clay wicket is a little greenish suited for pacers. Dhoni was really impressed with the wickets,” a source was quoted saying to TOI.
CSK players had given their Coronavirus tests earlier on Tuesday. All players have tested negative and the second round of tests will be conducted tomorrow, August 21, Friday before their departure to the UAE for IPL2020.
