CSK in Singapore, MI in USA, KKR in WI - IPL teams may go global!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsIPL governing council has said that the teams might get to hold overseas ties, reports Crictracker. Reportedly, it was decided in the first general body meeting.
The matches won't be of the tournament but mostly to build the brand. So far, it is only a proposal and things have not been finalized, the reports further say.
This is the first time in 12 years that the council has considered the options for IPL going global.
So far, no solid news on the destinations for the teams have been picked or announced. However, MI was the first team that wished to go to Canada. As SRK owns Caribbean Trinbago Knight Riders, it is possible for the team to go to WI. CSK could go to Singapore as Tamil population is high, says Crictracker.
