CSK CEO Reveals Big Update On Mid-Season Transfer Window For Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2020
Home > News Shots > Sports newsWith IPL 2020 reaching the halfway mark in the league stage, talks on the mid-season transfer window has begun. All top franchises are now allowed to scout for replacement and back-up players.
The window has opened up after teams have completed their seven rounds of matches in the ongoing IPL season.
Amid speculation of mid-season transfer in Chennai Super Kings (CSK), CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said that CSK has not thought on those lines and have not zeroed in on any player as of now. CSK plans to continue with the same squad.
CSK fans are very happy that CEO Kasi Viswanathan has ruled out the possibility of any mid-season transfer for the franchise in IPL 2020.
“CSK has never brought or released players in the mid-season transfer window and we have honestly not even gone through the rules and regulations that come into play if we are looking at a transfer. We are not looking at any player,” Viswanathan told ANI.
“It is a competition after all and I don’t think anyone would want to loan players to another franchise. Some might be playing and others might not, but all players are picked at the auction with numerous plans in mind and for different situations that might arise during the course of the tournament. You do not go in with just Plan A. You have an A, B, C and D,” he added.
CSK's performance is low this season; they are currently in the sixth spot in the points table with three wins from seven games.
As the transfer window is open, names like Ajinkya Rahane, Chris Lynn, Chris Gayle, Imran Tahir and others are eligible for the transfer. However, Viswanathan has ruled out any possibility of transfer for CSK.
