With just days left for the much awaited IPL 2020 to begin, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan shared recent updates on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer Deepak Chahar's COVID-19 test.

Viswanathan was quoted by ANI saying, Deepak cleared all his mandatory tests from the franchise and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and will train with the squad from Friday. "Deepak has all the necessary clearance from the CSK and BCCI side and will start training from today," he said.

Chahar was one of the two players in CSK squad to test positive for COVID-19 after arriving in UAE. According to Times of India (ToI) report, when the rest of the team tested negative and returned to train last Friday, Chahar stayed indoors to complete his quarantine period and recover completely.

Finally after completing his quarantine, Chahar is all set to make himself fit and available for the first match against Mumbai Indians which is on September 19.

Also, there were reports that CSK is likely to bring in Dawid Malan, England's batsman as a replacement for Suresh Raina. But Viswanathan quashed the rumours saying CSK do not have a slot for a foreign player.

"This is news to me as well because our quota of foreign players is already full. So I don't know how we can have another foreigner in the squad," he explained.
