Legendary cricketer Ajit Wadekar passed away at 77 on Wednesday. Wadekar was hospitalised in July and had his movement restricted due to failing health.
The official statement from Joslak Hospital said, " Mr Ajit Wadekar was declared dead on arrival at the Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre. He had been critically unwell for some time and was seeking treatment for the same.”
Wadekar captained the Indian cricket team in 1971 following which it won series against West Indies and England.
