West Indies smashed Pakistan in match number two of the ICC World Cup 2019 today. The Windies produced sheer hostility with short balls to dismiss Sarfaraz Ahmed's side for just 105 while Oshane Thomas became the star performer, who led the bowling attack with four wickets while Windies skipper Holder helped him with three crucial scalps.

Further explaining about the match, for West Indies, Oshane Thomas took four wickets while skipper Jason Holder dismissed three Pakistani batsmen. Fakhar Zaman (22) and Babar Azam (22) top-scored for Pakistan, trying to put a fight. While, Sheldon Cottrell gave Pakistan the first blow removing Imam ul Haq (2) in the third over.

Andre Russell then added to Pakistan’s worry by taking 2 wickets, giving only 4 runs and a maiden over. Some late hitting from Riaz took Pakistan over the 100-mark but the target remained too small for the Caribbean side.

According to Indian Express report, this was the second lowest total in World Cup history for Pakistan. Their lowest is 74/10 against England at Adelaide in the 1992 edition of the World Cup; they had won the tournament that year. This was the second-least overs managed by Pakistan in terms of being all-out in ODIs. They were all-out in 21.4 overs. Their lowest is 19.5 versus West Indies in 1993 (Cape Town).

Over to the winning team, Gayle scored a half century and smashed Pakistani bowlers while Pooran scored 34 in 19 balls giving Pakistan team the scare. Pakistan did have a solace in the name of Amir who took all the 3 wickets in 6 overs giving only 26 runs. In 13.4 overs, West Indies scored 108, winning the match and making their grand entry in the CWC points table.

West Indies won the toss and elected to bowl.
