Home > News Shots > Sports newsOne of the most popular cricketers Chris Gayle, who was to retire from international cricket after Test series against India; has not been selected in the West Indies squad. The team is yet to play two match Test series that starts from August 22 in Antigua.
During World Cup 2019, Gayle had stated that he would retire from international cricket soon after World Cup but he later backed out saying he would want to play for the country one last time against India in Test series.
According to India Today reports, Gayle said, "It's still not the end. I still have a few games to go. Maybe another series to go, as well. Who knows, we will see what happens."
"My plans after World Cup? I may play a Test match against India and then I will definitely play the ODIs against India. I won't play the T20s. That's my plan after the World Cup," Gayle added.
Gayle, so far has managed an average performance in the first ODI match of the 3-match series against India.
Something that took all cricket fans by shock, was when West Indies on Saturday revealed their 13-men squad for the two-match Test series against India. Where Gayle was not on the list, but off-spinner Rahkeem Cornwall earned his name to the West Indies side.
