What's Common Between MS Dhoni and Kamala Harris - Quite Interesting? Say "Whistle Podu' to This! 

As Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is all set to hit the field for the upcoming IPL 2020, so is the US government for the Big Elections this year. 

Two big names attached to these important events are - CSK captain MS Dhoni and Democratic vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris. They both have a Chennai connection and go about her job wearing sports shoes. 

As the US Presidential fight picks up speed, people have noticed that Kamala Harris is a sneakers person and Converse Chuck Taylors are her favourite. She also has her roots in Tamil Nadu's Chennai city. Even though Harris identifies herself more as American but her mother, Shyamala Gopalan, was from Chennai. 

At a recent interview, while talking about her choice of footwear, Harris said, “I run through airports in my Converse sneakers. I have a whole collection of Chuck Taylors: a black leather pair, a white pair, I have the kind that don’t lace, the kind that do lace, the kind I wear in the hot weather, the kind I wear in the cold weather, and the platform kind for when I’m wearing a pantsuit.”

Meanwhile, Elizabeth Semmelhack, the author of the book Sneaker X Culture: Collab, said about Harris in an interview, “Sneakers are a form of footwear finding their way into many women’s closets as part of a larger challenge to outmoded concepts of femininity. The sneakers are acting as the sartorial equivalent of being willing to roll up her sleeves. They suggest Harris is a woman of action.”

Coming to Dhoni, he is the most loved captain and the 'Thala' of Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The love for him from this city is immense and immeasurable. His connection with Chennai began after he joined the IPL franchise and will be forever.
