IPL 2020 Confirms Schedule, Dates, Venue and Format of Tournament! - Details
Home > News Shots > Sports news The 13th edition of the Indian Premiere League (IPL) 2020 which was scheduled for March was postponed infinitely. However, a proper schedule with dates, venue, and format have been released.
A few questions remain unanswered as IPL 2020 is announced to take place at the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Initially, the ICC has to officially announce the postponement of the T20 World Cup. This announcement is expected on July 20, since a board meeting has been scheduled for 4:30 pm. The second being, the Indian government’s permission to conduct the tournament outside India. However, this is not seen as a big hindrance by the BCCI.
The tournament is taking place at UAE as it does not have strict quarantine rules and tourists are welcome. Hence the tournament is likely to take place between September 26 and November 14. These dates have been selected so that the Indian players can directly fly to Australia, complete their quarantine and participate in the 4 match test trials.
Star India has been approached as they are the host broadcaster. Further, BCCI is yet to finalise the format for this year’s games.
