In the match against West Indies, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl at County Ground on Monday. West Indies played hard even when their star players Gayle and Russell went for duck and set the target as 322. However, Bangladesh chased the target in 41.3 overs, winning the match by 7 wickets.

West Indies, who promised a stunning comeback after thrashing Pakistan in the first match, is not keeping the same magic on ground lately. They scored 321 for 8 wicket loss in 50 overs. Hope scored 96 off 121 balls giving hope to the match despite the star players exiting the game early. Lewis scored 70 off 67 balls and Hetmyer scored 50 off 26 balls thrashing 4 fours and 3 sixers. Saifuddin and Rahman each took 3 wickets.

Though West Indies had the upper hand in the beginning, Bangladesh soon broke free and Al Hasan, who took 2 wickets for Bangladesh, thrashed the balls scoring 129 off 99 balls sending 16 boundaries. His partnership with Liton Das who scored 94 off 69 balls was unbreakable that they both stood and finished the game in style.

The dangeRUSS Russell's injury seems to only have worsened as he was seen limping while bowling. He did manage to take 1 wicket despite his health and Thomas took another wicket but the rest of the bowlers were of no match for the Hasan-Das partnership.

With this, West Indies is losing hope as they have to win all the 4 matches they are supposed to play and 2 matches being with New Zealand and India do not give them any hope of getting into the Semis despite having a wonderful start in the tournament.
