Watch Video: Ravichandran Ashwin Reveals Why He Stopped Watching Cricket
Home > News Shots > Sports newsAce off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was the highlight for Team India in Test cricket in Vizag on Friday; as he claimed his 27th five-wicket to his hat. He was earlier on a long break from international cricket but was a part of various domestic leagues before being called for the tour of West Indies.
With his comeback, Ashwin made sure that fans don't miss out on some action and new style of blowing which was evident during the game. Team India ruled day three as South Africa finished at 385 for 8, while India scored 118 runs at stumps.
During the three day Test, Ashwin took two wickets on Day 2 and added three more wickets to his name on the last day.
Post the game, Ashwin addressed the media where he was questioned as to why he stopped watching cricket when he was not included in the Indian Test squad. To which he came up with a cheeky reply stating that "two kids at home now."
"For starters, I have two kids who don't sleep that well at nights. Jokes apart, I felt like every time I watch the game on TV, I felt like I wanted to play the game and I was missing out. It is very natural, everybody goes through it," Ashwin said to media.
"I generally tried to do a few other things in my life as well. Books and a bit of archaeology stuff, I enjoyed," Ashwin added.
Further opening up on being away from cricket, Ashwin admitted that staying away from action was a tough task.
