Ashwin Likely To Be In Trouble After Breaking Clothing Regulations During Domestic Match
Home > News Shots > Sports newsTeam India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin shocked his fans after being promoted to bat at number three position in the Vijay Hazare Trophy final match.
The match was between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on October 25.
Sadly, Ashwin could only manage to score 8 off 13 balls. Despite that, he is still making headlines as he is likely of getting charged for sporting the BCCI logo on his helmet while playing a domestic match.
Meanwhile, a BCCI functionary stated that cricket players have been earlier briefed regarding the rules and regulations relating to logos. Despite that, if someone is found guilty then the match referee can fine him.
While speaking to media, a BCCI functionary told IANS that "the clothing regulations clearly say that you have to tape the BCCI logo if you plan to use the same helmet in domestic matches as the one you wear while playing for India."
"The match referees as well as players have been briefed about the same over the years and if someone is guilty of committing the mistake, he can be fined by the referee," the functionary added.
Talking about the match, Tamil Nadu scored a modest 252 in 49.5 overs with Abhinav Mukund making 85 runs. But the Tamil Nadu batting order failed to live upto the expectations as Karnataka bowlers were exceptionally good with Abhimanyu Mithun picking up a hat-trick.
