Test Cricket to undergo major changes!

Yesterday, England Cricket tweeted a picture of Test match Skipper Joe Root in which his white has number ‘66’ and his name on it. The picture has been captioned “Names and numbers on the back of Test shirts!” The International Cricket council too shared such pictures of cricketers Moeen Ali and Stuart Broad.
However, fans of the sport are seen expressing mixed opinions on Twitter.
One use wrote, “I like it! After all anything that makes the game easier to follow is good – think about people with visual impairments for example”
While another wrote, “Absolutely no problem with numbers 1 to 11etc but can’t see the benefit of names or random high numbers on shirts. I guess it’s all to do with increasing merchandise sales hoping a name will sell more. @YorkshireCCC”
Earlier this year, there were reports that the Ashes series between England and Australia would bring in modernisation in Test Cricket. The series begins on August 1 at Edgbaston, Birmingham and will continue till September 16.
