AB de Villiers Congratulates MI For IPL 2020 Win; Fans Instantly React With 'A Request'; Tweets Go Viral! 

Hours after Mumbai Indians (MI) won the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Tuesday, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, wishes poured in for the team and players from all across the world. 

MI, who is captained by Rohit Sharma defeated the Delhi Capitals (DC) by five wickets with eight balls to spare. The 2020 win was their fifth IPL trophy in the last eight seasons.  

Among all the wishes, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star player AB de Villiers congratulated Mumbai Indians for the big day. He lauded the Mumbai-based franchise and even went on to call them the best team of 2020. Taking to his social media handle, ABD wrote, “Well done @mipaltan! Without a doubt the best team this year.”

Looking into ABD's IPL career, he has been part of Virat Kohli's team since 2011 but hasn’t gotten his hands on the trophy. He is one of the most successful foreign players in the IPL and is also the second-highest run-scorer for RCB.

Soon after the tweet went viral, fans asked him to switch his IPL team. Fans feel that by staying in RCB, it will be impossible for ABD to win a trophy. Hence, his supporters want him to represent some other team in the coming IPL.
