Emotional VIDEO: TikTok helps Man's Reunion with long lost Family!

Over the past few weeks, TikTok has been in news for the wrong reasons but not this time. The video- sharing platform has helped a hearing and speech impaired Telangana man to reunite with his family after two years.

A video clip of food distribution among the needy during the lockdown was filmed in Punjab and posted on TikTok. It is this video that helped the man to reconnect with his family. 

Roddam Venkateshwarlu, a resident of Bhadradri Kothagudem district went missing in 2018 and his family lost all hopes of finding him. 

When R Peddiraju and his siblings saw the clip, they were more than surprised to find their missing father in a TikTok video shared by a policeman from Punjab. 

The Punjab Police Head Constable posted the video in TikTok. The intent behind the social service work was to distribute food among beggars and people living on the streets. 

In the video, one could notice that when the social workers asked him something, he conveyed in sign language that he can’t hear and speak. 

Peddiraju approached Telangana Police, who then got in touch with Punjab Police. Once they confirmed that the man who featured in the video is Venkateshwarlu, they issued Peddiraju a movement pass to travel down to Ludhiana in a car on Sunday. 

"I was so happy to meet my father after such a long time. It was painful to see him begging on the roads, but thank God we finally found him," Peddiraju told Indo Asian News Service on Sunday while returning home with his father.

“It looks like in an inebriated condition he boarded a truck and found himself in another state," said Peddiraju, who has three brothers and two sisters.

"He has an injury on his leg and is unable to walk properly. After reaching home and lifting of the lockdown we will take him to a doctor," he added.f

Peddiraju thanked the Punjab Police for helping them.
