People Shocked of this Man-Transgender Love Story; FB Friendship Ends like This...!
Home > News Shots > Inspiring newsA transgender woman from Cuddalore happily tied knots today with a Salem born resident of Mumbai Lakshman at Devanatha Swamy Temple, Thiruvanthipuram.
Amirtha, transgender daughter of Sekhar-Amutha from Thiruvanthipuram in Cuddalore first came across Lakshman who was working as Art Director in Mumbai through Facebook. They developed a good understanding about each other over time before falling in love. After getting approval from parents of both sides, the couple married.
“I’m a graduate and I have been preparing for Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Examinations. I’m also trying my luck in the police department. We developed interest for each other when I was in Mumbai for two years. Our parents were completely okay with us getting married. When we approached Devanatha Swamy temple management to reserve dates for our marriage, they objected it. Later, we got permission from the district collector to get married at the temple,” Amirtha said.
Lakshman said his parents were initially against his decision to marry a transgender woman and it took sometime for him to convince them. “I’m not planning on going back to Mumbai. I would like to live with Amirtha in Thiruvanthipuram,” he said.
