Facebook Love

Krishna Mandal hails from neighboring Bengal. The 22-year-old has befriended Aashiq Mandal from India through Facebook. As the days go by this friendship turned into love. At one point the two decided to get married. However, she could not enter India as she did not have a passport with Krishna Mandal. So both are worried.

Venture decision

Krishna, who was waiting to marry her boyfriend, decided to come to India by swimming from Bangladesh. With this, Krishna embarked on her journey with courage to cross the Ganges River through the Sundarbans and into India. Krishna enters India by swimming in the river for about an hour, crossing the Sundarbans forest where the Bengal tigers are abundant.

Aashiq married Krishna, who came to India from Bangladesh by swimming, at the Kalikat temple in Kolkata last week. However, they were unaware of the problem that lay ahead.

Arrest

Police have now arrested Krishna for trespassing into India without documents. Police said they were going to hand her over to Bangladeshi authorities. Thus, Ashiq is immersed in tragedy. The incident in which a young woman who swam to India from Bangladesh to marry her boyfriend was arrested by the police soon after her marriage has been talked about all over Kolkata.

Not the first time

This is not the first time such a swimmer has come to India from Bangladesh. Earlier this year, a young man crossed the Indo-Bangladesh border to buy chocolate. The court sentenced him to 15 days in jail for his arrest by the police.
