Sadhu Ramakrishna hails from Velanki village in Karappa zone of Kakinada district in Andhra Pradesh. Ramakrishna came to Velangi village 5 years ago and lived there begging. Ramakrishna died of a heart attack yesterday while staying in a small room near the Velanki Village Fish Market and eating at a nearby ashram.

Following the information given by the locals, the police went to the spot and recovered the body and cremated it with the help of the panchayat staff. Police were shocked to find hundreds of polythene covers with banknotes and coins in two bags found at Ramakrishna's house.

This was followed by counting of money by locals in the presence of revenue officials and police. There was a situation where they could not count the money completely. So the police put the money in a bag and sealed it and took it to the police station. The incident in which money was laundered in the house of the deceased beggar has caused surprise in the area.
