Newly wed woman dies; husband said "she slipped in bathroom"; real culprit arrested!

The incident where the husband tortured his wife and killed her by asking for dowry has caused a stir.

Appukuttan (age 50) hails from Cherthala, Alappuzha, Kerala. He is married to a country paranoid doctor and a woman named Hena (age 41). It is said that during the marriage, the woman gave 75 sovereigns of jewels and 5 lakh rupees in cash to Appukuttan.

In this case, on the 26th, his wife Hena slipped and fell in the bathroom and was taken to the hospital. Doctors who examined her there said she was already dead. Suspected doctors immediately informed police of Hena's head injuries.

Hena's head and body injuries were revealed during an investigation by police who rushed to the scene. Following this, the police investigated Appukuttan. It contained a lot of startling information.

Within a year of the marriage, Appukuttan allegedly harassed his wife by asking for an additional dowry. Thus the wife is often harassed. Hena informed her parents about this through her cell phone. Appukuttan pretends to fall in love with Hena as soon as her parents arrive. Believing this, Hena's parents stay with Hena's husband who refuses to take her home.

At this point in the argument with Hena on the day of the incident, Appukuttan grabbed her head and hit her on the ground several times. Hena was injured and died on the spot. A police investigation has revealed that Appukuttan pretended that his wife had slipped in the bathroom to cover it up.

Following this, the police filed a case against Appukuttan and arrested him. In Kerala, the recent incident in which a young woman was killed by her husband after asking for dowry has caused a stir as some young women have recently committed suicide due to dowry abuse.
