The storm was named Asani after a new storm formed in the southeastern Bay of Bengal. The Indian Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains with strong winds in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal. The meteorological office also warned that the coast of Andhra Pradesh would be inundated due to the storm. Fishermen were warned not to go to sea.

Asani storm near Sunnapalli port in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh has left many fishermen stranded at sea. It was only after it came ashore due to the turbulence of the sea that it became known as a chariot. Also, the fact that this chariot was gold in color surprised many.

Police rushed to the port to investigate the incident. Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Inspector Naupada said, "It may have come from abroad. We have informed the intelligence and superiors about this."
With Andhra Pradesh on red alert for cyclone Asani, the incident of a gold-colored chariot derailing in a state port is now spreading virally across India.
