Premkumar hails from Fatehabad in Haryana. He has been doing painter business in the area. He earns 300 rupees daily and takes care of the family. In this context, an electricity bill of Rs 2.5 lakh has been levied on his house for 6 months. Prem Kumar is shocked to know this.

The shocking thing is that Prem Kumar's family lives in a cottage with only 2 fans and 2 bulbs. He has lodged a complaint with the local electricity office. But they have said they must pay the electricity bill.

Following this, the Chief Minister has lodged a complaint with the grievance redressal body in the window. Further, Prem Kumar alleged that the power department had not taken any action to fix the electricity tariff. Electricity Minister Ranjith Chaudhary has said he will be approached on the matter.

The Deputy Divisional Officer of the Electricity Department said, ‘Electricity tariff is high compared to household electricity consumption. We are trying to find out the reason for the high electricity bill. This electricity charge is based on the amount in the electricity meter. We are going to send the electricity meter to the laboratory for testing. After that the proper electricity bill will be paid, 'he said.
