Naveen hails from Cherla Gowraram village in Nalgonda district of Telangana. He has been dialing 100 repeatedly on the day of Holi. Police initially cut the call, thinking someone was pranking them. Still, Naveen did not give up. He dialled 100 six times in a row. Police were shocked when Naveen came up with his complaint.
Mutton
Naveen, who bought mutton at home on the day of Holi festival, had asked his wife to cook it. But she refused to cook the mutton. Thus it seems that the two had a dispute. Naveen said that he wanted to cook what he wants on Holi day. upon denial, a furious Naveen dialed 100. Naveen is said to have been drunk on the day of the incident.
Arrest
Surveillance officials have lodged a complaint with the police about Naveen harassing them over the phone. Following this, the police found Naveen's address via his cell phone number. The next day, police arrived at Naveen's house and arrested him.
Case Record
Naveen has been booked for harassment in public (Section 290 of the Indian Penal Code) and misconduct under the influence of alcohol (Section 510 of the Indian Penal Code).
Warning
Police have warned the public not to misuse the 100 call control number. Police officials say this is a waste of time and could lead to problems with callers who really need help.
