The epicenter was reported below the Pacific Ocean floor, however; no tsunami alert was issued. The quake reportedly shook buildings in many parts of Fukushima. The quake also cut off power to Tokyo. As a result, about 20 lakh homes are in darkness.

Earthquake

Preliminary reports say two people have been killed and several others injured in the quake. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has warned of a possible tsunami in the quake-hit areas. The Japanese Air Force is reportedly investigating the aftermath of the quake.

Earthquake in India

At around 7.05 pm, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake shook the region of Ladakh in India and lasted for several seconds, according to the Meteorological Department. The epicenter was reported at a depth of 110 km below the earth's surface. According to the Meteorological Department, the magnitude was 5.2. It is noteworthy that no information has been released about the damage caused by this earthquake.
