Archana Sharma, a doctor from Rajasthan, and her husband managed a private hospital in the Lalsot area of the state's Dausa district. A pregnant woman was recently admitted to the hospital for delivery.
Archana was handling the delivery of the woman but the pregnant woman died. Reportedly, the family members of the pregnant woman held a demonstration outside the hospital and demanded immediate action against the erring doctor.
FIR
Following this, an FIR was registered against the doctor at the Lalsot Police Station in connection with the death of the pregnant woman during childbirth.
Contradictory results
According to the police, Archana committed suicide by hanging herself at her house which is above the hospital following the FIR registered with the police.
Speaking on the occasion, Dausa District SP Lal Chand Kayal said, "A case has been registered against a doctor for negligently treating a pregnant woman to death. This afternoon (Tuesday), a doctor hanged herself at her house above the hospital."
He also said that an investigation is underway. Meanwhile, the suicide of a female doctor who was distressed after the police case, has caused tragedy in the area.
