Man cancels order over 'Non-Hindu' rider, this is how Zomato responded!
Home > News Shots > India newsFood delivery platform Zomato's fitting reply to one of its users who cancelled his order because the allocated delivery person was ‘Non-Hindu’ is winning the Internet.
On Tuesday, Amit Shukla, a resident of Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh tweeted, “Just cancelled an order on @ZomatoIN. They allocated a non Hindu rider for my food they said the can’t change their rider and can’t refund on cancellation.”
Shukla also posted a series of screenshots from the conversation he had with Zomato’s Customer Care and said that he would take up the issue legally.
However, Zomato responded to his tweet in its own way saying Food does not have a religion. Instead, it is religion. Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal echoed the same on his Twitter account. “ We are proud of the idea of India – and the diversity of our esteemed customers and partners. We are not sorry to lose any business that comes in the way of our values”, his tweet read.
Since then, Twitterati is all love for Zomato.
One user commented, “My next 5 orders will be from you.”
While another wrote, “Well said! Rare to find corporate voices publicly rejecting the growing hate and bigotry.”
