UP CM Yogi Adityanath To Announce Job Openings For 1 Crore People Soon: Report
Home > News Shots > India newsAmid the COVID-19 crisis, Uttar Pradesh is all set to hit a new record. The state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be announcing employment for one crore people on June 26.
This is the first time any state in the country will give employment to one crore people in one go. This will be a big advantage to migrant workers who have returned to the state due to lockdown.
According to a Times Now report, the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) will be a major contributor to employment since nearly 50 percent of total jobs being created in Uttar Pradesh are under this scheme. The Chief Minister has also asked authorities to do skill mapping of migrant workers returning to Uttar Pradesh. With skilled mapping, work will be offered to people.
Meanwhile, a government spokesman said, Uttar Pradesh has about 1.80 crore MGNREGS job card holders, out of them, 85 lakh have been active. Not just that, even National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO) state unit will give employment to one lakh labourers belonging to the state at various real estate projects, Times Now further reported.
This new record breaking event will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video-conferencing.
