Woman in serious condition after hospital transfuses blood of wrong group

A case has been filed against Columbia Asia Hospital in Kolkata on allegations that the wrong blood group has been transfused into a patient. Reportedly, the patient was admitted on June 5 with severe abdominal pain.

While performing an operation on her, the doctors allegedly transfused blood of the wrong group to her. Her husband Abhijit Saha reportedly said that his wife's lungs and kidneys got damaged due to the transfusion. He added, 'If I refuse to pay the bills, the administration is threatening to stop the treatment.”

The woman was transfused with AB+ blood instead of A+ blood, which led to a multi-organ failure. However, the hospital denied the allegations completely.
