The woman was discharged along with her two daughters from Gandhi Hospital on May 16 after undergoing treatment for Covid-19. She claimed that her 42-year old husband, who was also a Covid-19 patient was admitted in the same hospital and went missing.

When she enquired about her husband after getting discharged, the hospital authorities said that the man died on May 1 and was cremated the following day by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) authorities after duly informing his family members.

The doctor explained that “his condition was serious and suffering from bipolar pneumonia with ARDS. The doctors' attempts to save him were unsuccessful. He died at 6.03 pm on May 1. Family members did not come forward to take the dead body to perform final rites,” the superintendent said.
