Over 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel died and many were injured on Thursday after a terrorist attack at Awantipora in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district.

The attack was carried out by Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed. A Mahindra Scorpio carrying more than 350 kg of explosives was rammed into a bus carrying over 39 personnel. This is the worst attack in Kashmir in over 30 years.

On Friday, the CRPF reacted to the deadly attack and stated that they will not forgive and forget what happened. CRPF tweeted, "WE WILL NOT FORGET, WE WILL NOT FORGIVE: We salute our martyrs of Pulwama attack and stand with the families of our martyr brothers. This heinous attack will be avenged. (sic)"

This is reportedly the first reaction from CRPF following the terror attack. The government also strongly condemned the attack and PM Narendra Modi said the ones responsible will have to pay a "very heavy price".
