Vizag Gas Leak: Andhra CM announces Compensation for Killed, Hospitalised
Home > News Shots > India newsAndhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced an ex-gratia of Rs one crore to the families of those killed due to a gas leak at a chemical plant in Visakhapatnam.
The death toll due to the gas leak at a chemical plant of LG Polymers at RR Venkatapuram village in the district has climbed to 11. Over 1,000 have reportedly been affected.
Reddy also announced Rs ten lakh to those in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Rs one lakh to those who are being treated at various hospitals. The state has also assured that it will bear all the medical expenses.
He also announced an aid of Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 for villagers living near the plant. A compensation of Rs 25,000 per dead animal would be handed over to farmers.
