VIDEO: From showering flowers to Lighting ships: Indian Army's tribute to Corona Warriors will melt your heart!
Home > News Shots > India newsIndian Armed forces has devised an elaborate plan to honour coronavirus warriors today. This includes showring rose petals over hospitals treating COVID19 patients and lighting naval vessels. Flypasts by fighter and transport aircrafts of the Indian Air Force are scheduled to be held today at multiple locations as announced by Chief of Defence staff (CDS) Bipin Rawat.
It is scheduled to cover all major locations starting from Srinagar to Thiruvananthapuram and Gujarat to Assam. The Helicopters from Indian Navy as well as IAF will fly over hospitals treating coronavirus patients and shower petals as a tribute to the corona warriors.
Flower petals were scheduled to be showered in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar between 9 am- 10am on Sunday. It will be showered in Itanagar, Guwahati, Shillong and Kolkata around 10:30 am. In Uttar Pradesh it was scheduled to take place between 10:15- 10:30 am. In the NCR, it was scheduled to take place between 10:00- 10:30 am.
Following this an aerial salute will be given to corona warriors in Delhi around the same time. According to India Today’s report the list of hospitals includes, AllMS, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, GTB Hospital, Loknayak Hospital, Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Safdarjang Hospital, Sri Ganga Ram Hospital, Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital, Max Saket, Rohini Hospital, Apollo Indraprastha Hospital and Army Hospital Research and Referal.
The aerial salute will be done from a distance of 500 meters from ground so that everyone will be able to witness it. Military bands all over the country are scheduled to visit civil hospitals treating COVID19 and play patriotic music to express their gratitude.
The country will witness the lighting up of Naval ships on the coasts of Mumbai, Porbandar, Karwar, Vizag, Chennai, Kochi and Port Blair will light up and flare fires in solidarity with the corona warriors. Apart from these arrangements, the Naval Air Stations at Goa would display human chain messages on the runway to honour the corona warriors.
General Bipin Rawat mentioned that the tri-services including Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force will organize various events for the doctors, nurses, police, media, delivery personnel, bank employees, government employees and local store owners as a mark of respect for them.

These are the invisible hands which have held the country together in these challenging times. armed forces wish to thank these proud Indians for their selfless service," General Bipin Rawat said.
He also added that "while we do these activities, we shall follow all social distancing guidelines and request all of you too. We are proud of our corona warriors and salute their sacrifice. We request you all to join us in this effort of the armed forces.”
