51-yr-old woman's photo switched with Sunny Leone's on voters' list

A 51-year-old woman from Uttar Pradesh had her photo switched with a scantily-clad woman who resembles Bollywood actress Sunny Leone. The switch-up comes ahead of the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Two pages of the voters' list from Ballia district in UP were released to the media containing a bunch of embarrassing switch-ups. Sunny Leone's photo was printed next to a voter named Durgawati Singh. Against former Cabinet minister Narad Rai a photo of an elephant was printed and a picture of a deer for Kunwar Ankur Singh.

The mix-up proved difficult for officials to explain. An officer stated that the data error was made by operators who had just transferred from a rural area. An FIR has reportedly been filed against the person responsible.
