At Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, two Engineering students robbed a cybercafé owner at gunpoint. The shocking incident took place on Friday, and the suspected duo had robbed Rs.1.25 lakh. The police arrested the suspects.
Sachin of Gangoh town and his accomplice Pankaj was arrested by the police as he was suspected to have committed the crime. According to the police’s statement, Sachin’s accomplice Pankaj is yet to be arrested. Both the youngsters had discontinued their education after they failed in their college exams recently.
“Looking to make quick money, they planned to rob the cybercafé owner. On Friday, they held the owner at gunpoint at the outlet and stole the cash,” said Superintendent of Police, Abhishek Verma to The Times of India.
As soon as the robbery took place, the police were alerted and the next day, they successfully caught one among the two while they were trying to flee. The police have recovered the stolen cash along with the country-made gun which was used in the scene. A live cartridge was also found among the one of the accused’s possession.
The police have assured that the hunt is on for arresting Pankaj. However, fear gips the Ghaziabad area in UP as less than a month ago, a man was shot dead for not having paid “Extortion money” at the market, following which the suspects fled in a motorcycle seized from another person at gunpoint.
