A video of Sonali Pogat, Bharatiya Janata Party’s leader, beating up a market secretary has gone viral, since Friday.

The incident is said to have taken place in Balsamand village in Hisar district. Sonali Pogat in the video says, “Am I working to hear abuses from people like you? Do I not have the right to a dignified life? You (abusive worker)… you have no right to live.” Meanwhile she can be seen using her slipper to hit the market secretary, Sultan Singh.

“She said look at me and talk. Do you know me, she asked. I said I know you fought the polls from Adampur. I have noted everything and will get things done, I told her. Then she asked me, why did you oppose me in the elections? I have no family in Adhampur, I told her. I said, how will I vote in your constituency and you are blaming me so long after the elections. She then started saying, "You are abusing me." I kept saying I didn't abuse. Suddenly, I was getting slapped from all sides,” Singh told the reporters.

The video has been slammed on Twitter by Randeep Sujewala, Congress’s Leader.

The villagers had said that Pogat reached the market with her associates and was discussing some issues with Singh. However, a heated argument was followed by her hitting Singh with her slipper.

“Exploits of the leaders of the Khattar government,” Surjewala’s tweet, in Hindi, said.

“The BJP committee of Adampur, Hisar, is beating the market committee secretary like animals. Is it a crime to do a government job? Will Khattar Saheb take action? Will the media still remain silent?” he wrote.
