RARE & SHOCKING: Doctors find FEMALE organs in a MAN
Home > News Shots > India newsThe doctors at the government-run JJ hospital, Mumbai found non-functioning female reproductive organs including the uterus in a 29-year-old man according to the Times Now report. The doctors had reportedly operated the man and took away unwanted organs from his body last month.
The man admitted at the hospital seeking a cure for infertility. Dr Venkat Gite, head of the urology department at the hospital had reportedly said, “The condition is so rare that so far only 200 such cases have been found”. According to the report, the surgery was carried out on June 26 under the supervision of Dr Venkat Gite.
Dr Venkat said, “We removed a non-functional womb (uterus), fallopian tubes, cervix and partial vagina from his body. His recovery is good,". The Times Now report also quoted the doctor saying "As per my information, so far only 200 such cases have been found. This condition is called Persistent Mullerian Duct Syndrome”.
"The body scan showed that the patient's testes were still in the abdomen. There is a surgical solution for this. But when we started the operation, we found a uterus-like structure inside," Gite added. The doctor also revealed the MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan where it is discovered that the man also had parts of other female reproductive organs such as the fallopian tubes, cervix and vagina.
Sadly, though the surgery was a success, it is reported that the man would not be able to have children as he suffers from azoospermia, where the semen contains no sperm.
