Tech Mahindra's Office Sealed After 7 Employees Tested Positive: Report!
Home > News Shots > India newsAs COVID-19 cases are on rise across the country, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) sealed a top IT firm - Tech Mahindra's campus in the city. This movie was taken up after seven employees of the company tested positive for COVID-19.
The campus has been sealed for 72 hours till Thursday for sanitisation. The enforcement squad of the BMC sealed Tech Mahindra campus at Maitree Vihar in Odisha.
According to an India Today report, BMC Commissioner Prem Chand Choudhry said, "The standard Covid-19 protocols have been initiated. Contact tracing has already begun to isolate others who have come in contact with the infected persons. The first case from the campus was reported on June 29 and the individual had a travel history outside Odisha."
"67 employees have been asked to undergo home quarantine till July 20 as a precautionary measure. Swab samples of all the employees will be collected for Covid-19 test," added Choudhry.
The third floor of Tech Mahindra office building was closed on July 3 after a staffer was found infected. Following which, around 32 staffers, were then quarantined as they had come in contact with him.
Currently, the COVID-19 cases in Odisha crossed the 10,000 mark yesterday. The state so far has reported 10,097 coronavirus cases and 42 deaths.
