Teacher who Worked in 25 Schools Arrested: Explains How she Managed to 'Work' in many Places!

The UP teacher who worked in 25 schools simultaneously, was arrested.

A full-time teacher who was employed in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV), a residential school for girls from the weaker sections of the society, was reported to have worked at 25 schools simultaneously. Her total earning in 13 months, until February 2020 was 1 crore.

Anamika Shukla’s case came up only recently when a database of teachers was being created on the Manav Sampada portal. After the personal records were uploaded, they found that one person named Anamika Shukla with the same bank and other personal details was listed at 25 schools.

She had managed to be present at all schools even when they are supposed to mark their attendance online.

Kasganj Basic Siksha Adhikari Anjali Agrawal said that on Saturday, the teacher went to the bank to withdraw her salary. “Once she found the bank account frozen, she went to the school to collect her belongings and later came to my office to submit her resignation. We had informed the police beforehand and she was handed over to them.”

The woman explained that she had paid Rs.2.5 lakh to a Manipuri Man for managing inbetween these jobs. The police said, “During interrogation, the accused initially claimed to be Anamika Singh, daughter of Subhas Singh. However, her documents are in the name of Anamika Shukla, daughter of Subhas Chandra Shukla.”

She has been booked for cheating and dishonestly including delivery of property, forgery of valuable security, and forgery for purpose of cheating.
