Taj Mahal Hotel Employees Test Positive for Coronavirus!
Home > News Shots > India newsThe Indian Hotels Company Ltd., which runs the Taj chain of properties, said on Saturday that some of its employees have tested positive for the deadly Coronavirus.
The company did not specify the number of infected employees.
However, a doctor attached to a private hospital told NDTV that at least six employees of the company have tested positive and are being treated.
The company which is currently hosting health workers including doctors at several of its premium hotels in Mumbai, tested approximately 500 of its employees and most of them were "asymptomatic showing absolutely no signs of illness".
"However, staff testing positive and symptomatic were duly hospitalised and others who were in contact with them have immediately been put in quarantine," the company was quoted as saying by Bloomberg Quint.
The iconic Taj Mahal Palace and Tower hotel of the company in south Mumbai does not have any guests at present and only minimal staff are present to ensure upkeep of the property, it said.
