RIP: Former Union Minister Sushma Swaraj Passes Away!
Home > News Shots > India newsFormer External Minister, Sushma Swaraj passed away at AIIMS, Delhi on August 6 (Tuesday). Reportedly Sushma Swaraj suffered a cardiac arrest and died at the age of 67. The BJP veteran’s recent public appearance was found through her twitter handle where she had thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP government for scrapping Article 370.
On August 6, at 10:20 pm, she was rushed to AIIMS, Delhi after she suffered a massive cardiac arrest. A team of doctors attended her, but she did not respond to the treatment and died. Union ministers including Nitin Gadkari, Smriti Irani and leaders from other political parties including Rahul Gandhi rushed to AIIMS to know about her health.
After knowing about her death news union ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh rushed to AIIMS. Leaders from many parties and people from all walks of life have condoled the death of Ms. Swaraj. Sushma was holding the portfolio of External Affairs in Modi's previous Government. She also held important ministries in Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi mourned the demise of Sushma Swaraj vis his twitter handle.
Sushma Swaraj had announced that she would not contest the general elections last November. Indeed, she was the most popular minister in the Indian Government who had the most number of followers on Twitter. She also received the recognition of “Super mom” of India by Washington post.
