Since the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, various political parties have been stepping forward, demanding the police for a proper investigation. The Congress on Tuesday, wrote to the CBI to probe into the matter.

Addressing the Home Minister Amit Shah and Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, the Congress demanded for the case to be taken over by the Central bureau of Investigation. This was put forth by Lalan Kumar who was the chairman of the Bihar Youth Congress and is currently a member of the Film Censor Board Advisory Committee.

Kumar claims that Sushant made his debut in Bollywood within a very short span of time and that he had come from a very small town. He claims that this made a section of the film industry unhappy. Hence, he has said that the possibility of Sushant having been abetted in committing suicide remains and can only be probed into by the CBI.

Kumar has said that if the CBI does not meet the inquiry in 15 days, then he will approach the court. He even warned that the films of Salman Khan and Karan Johar will not be screened in Bihar until Sushant gets justice.

Previously, Congress leader and former governor Nikhil Kumar, BJP leader and actor Manoj Tiwari had also demanded for a proper enquiry.
