Results for Plasma Therapy conducted on 4 COVID-19 Patients in Delhi has Arrived: Kejriwal to appeal for conducting it on more patients
Home > News Shots > India newsDelhi began Plasma Therapy trials earlier on those who had tested positive for the virus. A limited number of critically ill patients received the plasma therapy where antibody-rich plasma was taken from those who recovered from the virus, for treating the infected. “In the last few days, we have tried plasma therapy on four patients at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital. Till now the results are encouraging,” said Delhi’s CM Kejriwal.
After seeing the results Kejriwal added that he would appeal to the central government as it only allows this therapy on a limited number of patients. He wants to take permission for conducting this therapy on all serious patients. Further, he has already appealed to those who have recovered, to come forward and donate plasma for helping the others recover.
Previously, Maharashtra had also received permission to conduct plasma therapy on an experimental basis upon those who require it. Kerala was also among the states which were and are ready to conduct plasma therapy on those who may require it. However, there are no critically ill patients in Kerala.
This treatment seems to be the new hope in India, as the results have been positive and highly encouraging. Earlier this therapy was granted in both China and U.S. to curb more fatalities caused by this particular virus.
