Railways to refund full fares for tickets booked before mid-April. How to apply
Home > News Shots > India newsThe Indian Railways, yesterday, 23 June, announced that all the tickets booked for regular trains on or before April 14 stand cancelled and refund will be generated soon.
“Ministry of Railways has decided that all train tickets booked on or prior to 14th April 2020 for the regular time-tabled trains should be cancelled and full refund generated as per provisions contained in the letters issued earlier,” a tweet from the Ministry read.
How to apply for a refund?
For PRS counter tickets, passengers can apply for refund within six months from the date of journey (instead of three days excluding days of journey.
E-tickets will be automatically refunded.
The Indian Railways had suspended all the passenger, mail and express trains across the country in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. Later, the Ministry announced that all the old bookings of all regular trains - other than 'Shramik Special trains which were operated for the benefit of migrant workers - will be cancelled till June 30.
