In a shocking incident in Haryana’s Mewat district, a seven-year-old pregnant goat died after a gang of eight men gang-raped the animal on Wednesday night. The goat’s owner Aslup Khan found the goat missing from the shed, located near his house, and along with a few villagers, went searching for it.
The 27-year-old truck driver added that they found three men sexually assaulting his goat, caught hold of them and beat them up. The three men in an inebriated condition allegedly revealed about five others who raped the goat. While they were let off, the goat’s condition deteriorated the next day and the animal died in the evening.
Following the goat’s death, infuriated Khan filed a complaint with police. While three people have been identified, five others are yet to be identified. Police have not made any arrests so far. The villagers reportedly said that the accused are drug addicts and history-sheeters.
Police have filed a case under Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code, which criminalises carnal intercourse against the order of nature with man, woman or animal, and under the Animal Cruelty Act at Nagina police station.
