Police Perform Last Rites Of Woman, Why Relatives, Neighbours Refused To Help?
Home > News Shots > India newsIn a sad incident, the Delhi Police came forward and performed the last rites of a 62-year-old woman who died due to prolonged illness in Delhi's Jaitpur town.
The woman is survived by her husband, identified as Jaspal Singh (66) and 26-year-old mentally challenged son, who are residents of Lakhpat Colony in Meethapur Extension.
As per police official, Jaspal Singh, informed the police that he has lost his wife and was unable to perform last rites and had no other relatives in the national capital to help.
Soon after receiving the call, the team of Jaitpur station immediately came into action and started preparing for the last rites. The police carried the body on their shoulders to the cremation ground along with 66-year-old Jaspal Singh. They accompanied Jaspal Singh and made all the arrangements. They also cremated the deceased according to all rituals.
“The family originally hails from Amritsar and has no relative in Delhi. His wife Sudha Kashyap, aged about 62 years was ill since November 2019 and very weak. Last night after eating her meal, she went to sleep but in the morning she was found dead. He added that he himself is not able to make arrangements for the last rites of his deceased wife,” said the police.
The police who performed the last rites were- Inspector Anand Swaroop, Constable Rahul, Constable Ravikant, Constable Parveen, Constable Sunil and Constable Dharameder.
