Delhi Police recently came under the scanner after allegedly referring the Independence Day which falls on August 15 as "Republic Day" that falls on January 26. This mistake of theirs was made in a recent advisory.

As per ANI news agency, soon following this mistake a petition has been filed against the Delhi Police in the high court.

The petition claims that the South Delhi unit of the police department printed "Republic Day" instead of "Independence Day" in the notification everywhere except the heading.

The petition has been filed by Manjeet Singh Chugh who reportedly said that such errors shows that the notifications issued by the Delhi Police are not read and checked by senior officers.

The plea was addressed before a division bench which was presided by Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice C Harishankar and the matter will be taken up in this week, ANI further reported.

The mistake committed by Delhi Police is big because if Delhi Police make errors then what will a common man do.
