Home > News Shots > India newsAfter locust attacked northern parts of India, people came up with different ideas and innovative techniques to fight back. Everyday, social media was filled with videos of ingenious ideas like banging plates and lighting fires.
Many even installed a DJ setup in the middle of the farm which went viral. Currently, another video of a similar idea has surfaced and it is not just simple but brilliant too.
Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Parveen Kaswan took to social media and shared the video with the caption, "Modern problem, requires a modern solution. Local innovation at best for locusts. Brilliant idea. (sic)".
In the video, a fan is attached to one side of a plastic bottle and a small kettledrum on the other end. The kettledrum also has a cardboard in the shape of a fin attached to it, which helps in the movement of the device.
So, when the wind blows, the fan started moving, that leads to making the drum beat faster and creating noise.
